“My name is May Tran, and I just finished the final term of my doctoral program in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM). It’s been an incredible journey, and I can’t believe I’ve reached the end of this chapter in my life!
Early Encounters with Acupuncture and Heritage
I was born in Vietnam, and my great-grandparents hail from China. Interestingly, my first encounter with acupuncture was when I was a child. I received acupuncture and cupping treatments without fully understanding what they were. Tbh… I was scared as a child, but now I love it. I also work alongside my mother, who’s an amazing acupuncturist. My background and heritage played a significant role in shaping my journey.
While pursuing my studies, I’ve also been working as a behavioral therapist for the past five years, primarily with children who are on the spectrum for autism disorders and learning disabilities. It’s incredibly rewarding to witness the progress and growth that these amazing kids can achieve, and it has only deepened my desire to work closely with patients and contribute to their well-being.

Integrating Activity with Medicine
In my free time, I love surfing and snowboarding. Staying active has always been a fundamental part of my life, and it has led me to develop an intense fascination with the orthopedic aspects of acupuncture.
But it’s not just about the physical aspect for me; I’ve come to understand the importance of maintaining a healthy body and mind. This realization has sparked a genuine passion for acupuncture, Chinese medicine, and especially its role in promoting the overall well-being of the human body.
Ultimately, what drives me is the desire to give back to the community and make a positive impact on the lives of others. As a practitioner specializing in acupuncture and Eastern medicine, I hope to be able to contribute meaningfully and help people find their path to wellness and happiness.”
