Belinda Anderson, PCOM-NY’s Academic Dean, Appointed to NIH National Advisory Council for Complimentary and Integrative Health

The Pacific College of Oriental Medicine is delighted to announce that Belinda Anderson, PhD, LAc, and Academic Dean of PCOM, New York has been appointed to the National Advisory Council for Complementary and Integrative Health. The Academic Collaborative for Integrative Health (ACIH) nominated Anderson for this position as she is both an ACIH Research Working Group Co-Chair and long-time ACIH member. Congratulations Dr. Anderson!

Dr. Anderson’s Distinguished Career in Integrative Medicine

Dr. Anderson earned her PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Sydney (Australia), and her Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture (NESA, Boston, MA). Dr. Anderson has over 20 years of administrative, clinical, research and teaching experience. She is an Associate Clinical Professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Einstein, NY) and Academic Dean at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM-NY). Dr. Anderson maintains a private practice at New York University Fertility Center, and is a recognized expert in the use of acupuncture in conjunction with in vitro fertilization (IVF).

She is widely published, serves as an editor for several integrated medical journals, regularly participates on National Institute of Health (NIH) National Center for Complementary and Integrated Health (NCCIH) study sections, and is a Co-Chair of the Research Working Group of the Academic Consortium for Integrated Health. Dr. Anderson is principal investigator of an NIH NCCIH five-year project entitled Evidence Informed Practice Faculty Training and Curriculum Development, at PCOM-NY. She is co-investigator on two other grants: an acupuncture chronic pain trial funded by the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), and a residency wellness and prevention training program funded by Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
