Pacific College Job Announcement – Nursing Lab Coordinator – New York Campus

Pacific College of Health and Science is hiring for the on-ground full-time position of Nursing Lab Coordinator at our New York campus.

General Job Summary:

The Nursing Lab Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the teaching and learning of pre-licensure BSN students. This position assists the lab direction in the operational management and physical maintenance of the clinical skills/ simulation labs. Additionally, the Nursing Lab Coordinator works under the direction and supervision of nursing faculty to support student learning in various clinical skills and simulation labs.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare lab and/or simulation environment to accurately represent a clinical setting using real and simulated clinical supplies and equipment.
  • Set-up and break down all lab and simulation supplies and equipment for nursing labs and clinical experiences.
  • Keep track of supplies for ordering and re-stock inventory after simulation and skills lab activities.
  • Provide general technical support and troubleshooting for human patient simulators.
  • Coordinate and maintain the schedule for lab usage by students for course assignments and other activities including external visitors.
  • Provide orientation to the learning environment for students, faculty, and other staff.
  • Demonstrate safe operation of common medical equipment and associated resources.
  • Provide general support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair to the clinical equipment used in the simulation/skills lab.
  • Undertake inspections equipment to monitor conditions and report failures.
  • Maintain documents and records in support of lab operations.
  • Maintain records of maintenance and repair of simulation/skills lab supplies and equipment.
  • Participate in operational and procedural development.
  • Operate as a liaison with vendors to ensure current and future lab needs are met.
  • Provide demonstration of psychomotor clinical nursing skills to students.
  • Coach students in the safe and effective performance of psychomotor clinical nursing skills.
  • Coach students in the development of physical assessment and information gathering skills.
  • Support student learning remediation of psychomotor clinical nursing and health assessment skills
  • Special technical and operational projects as assigned by the Simulation Lab Director.

Required Qualifications:

  • New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Five years clinical RN work experience in an acute care setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BSN preferred

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing essential functions of the job in a typical clinical skills and simulation laboratory.  Able to work sitting or standing at a desk and operate a computer using keyboard and reading information on a monitor. Able to set-up and break down all lab and simulation supplies and equipment for nursing labs and clinical experiences.

Salary Range: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 annually
